Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cake Pops

In my efforts to switch from store-bought and processed foods to healthier options, I have found myself making cakes from scratch or all natural cake mixes instead of just ordering a cake from the local grocery store that is loaded with preservatives and other miscellaneous "ingredients". I know that these cake pops aren't quite that healthy for you, since they are dipped in candy melts and I used white flour and sugar, but everything else was made from scratch and with pretty healthy ingredients.
Here's how I constructed my TMNT cake pops:
Once upon a time...
in a far, far away kitchen, there was a Demarle Teddy Bear cake pan. It was filled with the most delicious Chocolate Zucchini Cake batter.

One day, the teddy bears decided to dress up like turtles. They took off their ears, but it still wasn't quite right. They knew they'd need to have masks to look tough, so they hopped on their cake pop sticks and traveled for several hours through the freezing temperatures of Freezer Mountain to find the Royal Icing Fairy who lived on the other side of Freezer Mountain. When they came down from the mountain, they were frozen to their sticks! They jumped into a bath of green candy melts to warm up a bit and went on their way. They went to the Royal Icing Fairy and asked her to make them look like ninja turtles. She graciously agreed and went to work.
First she started out making their eyes and mouths one by one on a Roulpat mat, so that they could easily be removed once they hardened. Then she pressed the mouths into the, still soft, green candy melt turtles. Next, she added masks with royal icing and pressed the eyes in place. Lastly, she drew shells and breast plates on the turtles and colored them in with more royal icing.

When they were finished, they were tough looking, green and delicious! And they lived happily ever after...well at least until the birthday party. :)
